MSc Diana Czarnecka and MSc Magdalena Kawka from the Department of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology visited the Department of Forest Mycology and Pathology at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala (1 September-30 October 2010).

During their stay in the University in Uppsala they gain practical knowledge about different molecular biological methods to identify and quantify a number of soil fungi. They have been training in purification and culturing of pathogenic fungi such as Alternaria spp., Sclerotinia spp., Rhizoctonia spp., Fusarium spp., Verticillium spp., Botrytis spp., Pythium spp., Phytophthora spp. Knowledge and skills will be used in their future scientific work in IUNG..
