Dr Rafał Pudełko from the Department of Agrometeorology and Applied Informatics visited Laboratory of Agribusiness Management, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece (15 January - 24 June 2011).

He had the opportunity to improve his knowledge on developing the web-SDDS (The optimisation decision making in bioelectricity assisted by GIS), which was developed in the AUA by professor Stelios Rozakis and his co-workers. The results of this collaboration were presented at the 19th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EU BC&E). This visit allowed him to extend experience on the spatial modelling of biomass resource for energy purposes and statistical methods of images analysis. Part of this knowledge was used when a proposal for a research project (Biomass based energy intermediates boosting biofuel production, call ID: FP7-ENERGY-2011-1) was prepared.
