MSc Hanna Olszak-Przybyś and MSc Karolina Kursa from the Department of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology visited the Department of Chemical Analysis at Swedish Match North Europe in Stockholm (27 August - 24 September 2011).

During their stay in Swedish Match they gained practical knowledge about sample preparation to GC-MS measurement and determination of nicotine and other selected secondary metabolites in tobacco by using GC-MS. This knowledge will help determinate alkaloids profiles of wild species of tobacco and observe phenomenon of nicotine into nornicotine conversion.
