Dr Alina Syp from the Department of Agrometorology and Applied Informatics and dr Grzegorz Siebielec from the Department of Soil Science Erosion and Land Conservation participated in the workshop on future mixed farming systems in Tulusa, France (12 - 14 December 2012). The meeting was organized by the INRA. During the meeting, participants attempt to identify and design innovative mixed farming systems using a participatory approach and modelling. The basis for discussion were presentations of 14 mixed commercial and experimental farms from different EU countries and Switzerland. During the workshop the DIALECTE, a tool developed by Solagro (www.solagro.org) was presented. Software DIALECTE is used to assess the agro-environmental performance and the ecological sustainability of farms, which is applicable to any type of farming systems in Europe. Up to now, more than 3,000 farms have been evaluated in France, 200 farms are being assessed in other European countries. DIALECTE is freely accessible on the internet since 2006, available in six languages French, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian on http://dialecte.solagro.org. In the third day of the workshop visit to organic farm was organised. |
